Hello
Neighbor
GOT A MINUTE
I have the complete answer to the quality of life in Spring Valley Lake. Some
of you remember Spring Valley Lake when it was the Jewel of the High Desert. It can be again and it is very simple. I have
researched and studied back through the years and found that when things were right, everything here was just as they were
when most of us were growing up. (The Secret) Everyone knew their neighbors and the neighbors knew you, your family, and your
friends.
When something looked suspicious, it was no problem getting the Sheriff or Police out to take
care of the matter.
The answer is know your neighbor and get a Neighborhood Watch started on your street
or in your neighborhood by calling Stella Hodson at Victor Valley Sheriff's Station 760-243-8825 or Hank McGill at 760-951-7218.
WHY HAVE A NEIGHBORHOOD CRIME WATCH?
The most prevalent neighborhood crimes are burglaries.
Home burglaries are usually committed during the Day and car burglaries at night.
1. 90% of criminals are amateurs
looking for easy targets and opportunities.
2. Vandalism occurs in littered and uninvolved neighborhoods.
3. Crime feeds on apathy. If everyone in the neighborhood just minds their own business then you are vulnerable.
4. Very few people can protect their home all the time.
5. Do you know all your neighbors?
6. Do you
watch your neighbor’s house when they are away?
7. Do your neighbors watch your house?
8. Do you
all work together on neighborhood problems?
9. Do you call the police if you hear or see something unusual?
10. Do you talk to everyone including the youths in your neighborhood?
11. If you see a youth misbehaving,
do you say something?
12. Do you accept complaints about your children?
NATIONAL
NIGHT OUT
COP's were out in full force for the National Night Out and found neighbors enjoying the evening out.
Thier were not as many as we thought would be out but it was a very short notice, like the day before.
We did get
to enjoy the cookies and punch and the stories told. Next year we should have many more people out because we will have all
year to put something together to make it more interesting.
