CREAM OF THE CROP
On Saturday, February 10th at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Volunteer, Commanders and Coordinators meeting, SHERIFF GARY PENROD and LT GLEN GRABIEC presented our own Commander HANK MCGILL with VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD.
This honor which HANK so richly deserves encompasses the entire Sheriff’s Department Volunteers.
HANK MCGILL doesn’t know the meaning of the word, “NO”. He has been a member of the SVL COP Unit since its very beginning in February 2000. He has been Commander of the Unit 5 times.
HANK holds dual status as both a member of the SVL COP Unit and the Administrative Support Unit in Volunteer Forces. He was the instrumental in taking on the job of the Volunteer Support Unit for the Sheriff’s Dive Rescue Team. He is a P.O.S.T Certified CPR and First Aid Instructor for Volunteers and has worked as an inspector for the Crime Free Multiple Housing Program. He has started an internet WEB page for the Spring Valley Lake COP Unit.
In the year 2001 HANK was named Volunteer of the Year by the International Foot Printers and in 2002 they named him Outstanding Citizen of the Year. HANK was also the COP of the Year for the SVL COP Unit in 2006.
COMMANDER HANK MCGILL believes professionalism and dedication are definitely an asset to the agency in which you serve.
HANK certainly is an authority in that area as he has devoted an incredible 8,836 hours of volunteer work since the year 2000 and is still going, and going, and going.
Congratulations to you HANK! Thank you for your sincere devotion and caring for your fellow man. You truly are amazing and we are lucky to have you!!
